Friends of Pier Park Meeting: February 8th, 2016

Meeting called to order @ 6:33pm

Announcements:
Update from North Parks Advisory Group

Treasurer Report: not present

Old Business:
Approve Previous Minutes:
Matt made a motion to approve the January meeting minutes. Mary Ann seconded, motion passed.

Park benches and new trash cans
Kelly working to complete PPR form

Restrooms
No update

501c3 Status
Matt, Mary Ann and David Robinson will meet to finalize electronic submission on Feb 26th at David’s office.

New Business:
Directories Management:
It is important that we keep a directory of “active” members (for voting purposes), donors, partners, volunteers, and individual resources. Erin will start working on this project.
Communication:
Methods: bulletin board, .org website, facebook page, mail-chimp, on-site tables, promo/ad/gifts
-Ideas for next year’s volunteer fair (Kelly)
-Give-Aways/Gifts for donors were discussed – stickers, buttons, pens, shirts, discs, etc.
-Website update: (Brian)
Our Dream Pier Park Ideas page (with votes)
Tiered “Friends of Pier Park” donation levels (tree selection was decided with amounts)
Events Calendar to be created (Brian and Mary Ann will sit down on coming Thursday)

UP Clean Up Update:

Other Items:

Mary Ann motioned to get our logo vectorized so that it can be used on shirts, discs, etc. The board decided to allow up to 100$ to have this performed. Kelly seconded, motion passed.

Kelly noted that Mark Hitchcock would like to present at the next meeting regarding invasive moths. Matt will reach out to invite Mark for our March meeting.

Public comment period for non-members allowed. No comments to report.

Public comment period for inactive members:
Stephanie Haas, Associate Director, Portland After School Tennis & Education, Inc. (PASTANDE, non-profit) spoke about collaborating with FoPP regarding their Earth Day walking event on April 21st. She also noted that she had an eager volunteer group of children if needed to help around the park for age appropriate tasks.
