Friends of Pier Park Receives Three Grants for Park Projects

Path through wooded Pier Park

We’ve got some great news! Recently, we were awarded three community grants for park enhancements and operating costs from three generous, new partners–Portland Garden Club, Bureau of Environmental Services with Portland State University Indigenous Nations Studies, and Portland Parks Foundation– to benefit our entire community. All funds will go toward bringing more beauty, diversity, and watershed health to the park, our area, and the nature that surrounds us, and getting more neighbors involved in keeping our park a welcoming place for all.

We are honored that these local groups recognized how much we can accomplish together with YOU!–our fantastic group of volunteers–and that they chose our park and our neighborhood as recipients of their community grants! Thank you, Portland Garden Club, Bureau of Environmental Services and Portland State Indigenous Studies, and Portland Parks Foundation, for believing in us!

In the next blog posts, we’ll share more about the specific projects and our new partners. And please do keep on the lookout —or sign up now —so you can be kept in the loop for opportunities to help us with our new work this Summer and Fall. They involve prepping space and planting! We’re very excited!
