Lead Testing Results for Pier Park

Here at Pier Park we take the health and welfare of our community and it’s members very seriously. Therefore, with the rising concerns for lead levels in Portland’s recreational parks and school facilities, we are pleased to share with you our Sample Results from the Portland Water Bureau.

The city of Portland recommends actions with lead levels reaching 15ppb or higher. Our pool registered at 3.93 ppb, and one of our sinks at 1.91 ppb. No further action is needed in these regards.

We are currently in the process of testing the teether and tether ball equipment located in the park. Portland Parks and Recreation outlined a Q&A in regards to what equipment will be tested for lead, what will happen if high lead levels are exposed, and overall addresses other concerns parents may have for their children. Be sure to check out that information if you have any questions or concerns.
