Looking for Leaders

Pier Park forest in early October.

Our success has always come from motivated and resourceful leadership. For the past several years Ryan Lynch (Chair) and Kelly Pergande (Vice Chair) have guided Friends of Pier Park, led the drive to improve Pier Park’s disc golf course, saved a portion of the fallen Sequoia to install as a bench, and testified at City Council about the need for improved restrooms.

Good things happen to good people. Ryan, who runs his own construction company, is moving from the Pier Park neighborhood to an area south of Portland. Kelly is contemplating an opportunity in Italy.

We congratulate and thank them both.

Friends of Pier Park is looking for leaders! Do you have a couple hours a month to meet with follow board members and Parks Staff to talk about park improvements? We work together and, as you know, many hands makes light work.

Come out on Monday evening, November 16th at 6:30 pm to our Thanksgiving Party. (This month it is what we call a board meeting.)  Bring your favorite Thanksgiving food and wine or other beverage. I am barbequeing a turkey and making vegetarian dressing. The rest of the meal is potluck.

Location: 7525 N New York Ave.
RSVP: 503-764-8020
