Wonder what Friends of Pier Park has been up to lately? Take a look at this recent KGW TV news video, of our neighborhood 5th graders planting in the Park.
In partnership with Sitton Elementary, Portland Parks and Recreation, Columbia Slough Watershed Council, and Confluence, this is the second year of our learning and doing, a program that engages our local youth to learn about and care for our environment, right in our beloved park! Connecting our youngest community members to the park last year from our CWSP Grant was so wonderful for our community, we wrote another grant, received funds from the Trail Blazers Foundation Live Greener Grant, and due to their generosity and other partners, we could run the program again!

But we couldn’t do this without your continued support.
Other programs and events we ran in 2022 included a music performance and a pickleball clinic. We planted a small pollinator garden, removed much ivy on No Ivy Day in October and during the Pier Park Pick-Up in April, and finished planting a Community Garden with Portland Tennis and Education as part of our Community Watershed Restoration grant we received from the City of Portland.

With your donations, we can continue to engage our diverse community in the care of Pier Park.
Together, we can keep those kids coming back and more!
- More native plants
- More neighborhood events
- More invasive plant removal

Each donation you make comes with a THANK YOU!
