Pier Park Pick-Up 2021

March 31, 2021 By Mary Ann Aschenbrenner Leave a Comment

It will look a little different this year with all of us wearing face masks and keeping social distance, but our annual Earth Day Pier Park Pick-Up is on track for another year of fun!

Celebrating Earth Day

In 2007 Friends of Pier Park hosted our first SOLVE-IT Earth Day event, now called Oregon Spring Cleanup. Fifteen years later we are still supported by SOLVE and we still are celebrating Earth Day.

Specifics:

  • When: Saturday, April 24th, 9 am – 12 pm
  • Where: Meet at the Pier Park Maintenance Shed (near disc golf hole 1 and the turnaround)
  • Why: Remove invasive ivy and blackberries, pick up fallen limbs and litter
  • How: Register with SOLVE in Advance

What to Bring

All volunteers must wear a MASK! Remember, it is cooler under the trees, dress appropriately for the weather. The outdoors can be muddy this time of year; wear work boots or sturdy shoes to prevent slipping. Tools will be provided, but you should bring your own work gloves. This event will go on rain or shine.

You must register in advance and attendance is limited.

This event is supported by Waterlink Web, a North Portland WordPress website design and development company, which will provide treats for all volunteers.
